IH 10 at Schuster Avenue
Alliance performed a traffic analysis for the interchange of I-10 with Schuster Avenue. This interchange provides primary access to UTEP and to the Sun Bowl, and under existing conditions traffic backs up off ramps onto the Interstate main lanes. Alliance provided traffic analysis of existing, interim and design year operational alternates to provide recommended configuration for schematic design. Recommendations included realignment of ramps, implementation of a roundabout, channelization of pedestrian traffic, addition of u-turns, auxiliary lanes and turn lanes. Work elements included main lane operational analysis, existing condition analysis, travel demand model review, traffic projections, future conditions analysis and recommendations. Analysis included use of Transcad, HCS and Synchro.
