Alliance
provides our clients with VideoGPS, the marriage of video and GPS.
Alliance developed this state-of-the-art technology by considering
which windshield surveys of highway or rail transportation systems
can be conducted while also collecting GPS data points and video.
This user-friendly viewing system utilizes multiple GIS platforms
within its own stand-alone system. Roads can be driven during anytime of day, including in the AM Peak, PM Peak, or midday. Users can then view the data with a background aerial photograph, digital ortho-quad map, or any base layer, including modeling networks and GIS base maps. On rail systems using a high-rail vehicle, the user can document horizontal and vertical clearances, right-of-way, adjacent land use, grade crossings and other physical features of the alignment to provide data that can be geospatially analyzed and post-processed during project development. > View Features & Capabilities The VideoGPS example below illustrates one of many uses for VideoGPS. The video and GPS data was collected for site inspection/verification of a traffic control plan produced by Alliance.
